Service Description

Ōbaku Baisa-Ryū is one of sencha tea ceremony rooted in the traditions of Ōbaku Zen Buddhism and inspired by the philosophy of the Zen priest Baisao. You will first experience a traditional sencha tea ceremony with Gyokuro tea and Japanese delicacies, followed by the workshop HATSUTEMAESANPO, where you learn how to prepare delicious tea at home, including the proper amount of tea leaves and ideal water temperature. The tea ceremony is performed by Haruka Matsuo (tea name Sōran). Living in the Netherlands, she creates her own ceramic tea utensils using clay from the IJssel River and traditional Japanese techniques learned from a Japanese ceramics master.
