Originally used to make bamboo lamps for Japanese paper, the technique was adapted to create beautiful teapots for green tea ceremonies. The process involves wrapping high-quality, thinly pressed clay around a wooden mould and layering it with special Kakishibu paper (柿渋紙), made from persimmon juice. Haruka: "As the 9th generation successor of the Kigata Banko Yaki tradition, I am committed to preserving this special technique while sharing it with the world. Alongside traditional designs, I also introduce creative elements, bringing this timeless craft into the modern day."
